Indian Summer, Autumn Equinox and the Cosmic Bridge
Its no secret that I love Indian Summer. Its by far and away my favorite time of year. After all, I chose to enter this earth plane in early October, when the leaves are in full blaze and the skies are so deeply blue it takes my breath away. I always feel a combination of ecstasy and sorrow as summer ends and autumn begins. The bounty of harvest - delectable, delicious vine-ripe tomatoes, luscious homegrown grapes and rose-colored, sun-kissed apples takes me back to my earliest memories of fall - walking home from school, golden leaves swirling and the sun fiery-hot upon my back. The season of hide-and-seek, swimming pools and freshly cut grass was over. Classrooms, football and homework had begun. A strong sense of anticipation, the awareness of change, the ability to canvas the present with the past and accept myself exactly as I was at that moment - knowing that it was up to me to make the best of it, whatever that might be - be a good student, do my best, embrace the unknown and walk courageously in to the future, one semester at a time I might move closer to becoming the person I wanted to be.
For me, this time of year the cosmic bridge between hard-working, virtuous Virgo and laughing, love-touched Libra - is all about ideals and inspiration, gratitude and surrender. And, this week, as we officially bid adieu to our sizzling, seductive summer and open our hearts to the magnificent magic of autumn, may we also transform with the changing leaves and metamorphic terrain upon which we live, laugh and love.
Autumn Equinox takes place this year on September 22 @ 9:09 p.m. MDT. The full Harvest Moon comes to fruition six hours later, @ 3:17 a.m. MDT, on September 23rd. Blessings and grace, peace and joy
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
As we move closer to the fruition of this years Harvest Moon, issues of pairing and sharing take center stage. Relationship how we show up for others and who shows up for us is paramount in understanding where and who we are today. Radical personal awakening is the name of the game. Choose your partners wisely and, remember, health is wealth.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
Autumn Equinox and the Harvest Moon take place within 6 hours of each other this year, putting the energies of initiation and fruition together in a powerful package of ending and beginning. Death and rebirth join hands as you feel guardian spirits closing doors and opening others. Trust the Universe to deliver what you need and go forth with faith.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
The Autumn Equinox/Harvest Moon coincidence marks another major turning point upon the cosmic wheel, as it highlights the intense, ongoing powerful cardinal grand cross in orb since spring. The mandate is for personal and social awareness and demands a radical shift in perspective and direction. Pay attention to daily tasks and amend behaviors as necessary.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You may feel as if the Earth is shifting on its axis as social and personal worlds collide. Eight oppositions and fifteen squares push and pull, upset and balance people, places and things in a cosmic dance of up and down, in and out. Maintain composure and focus on gratitude amidst the chaos and confusion. This is a powerful time of awakening. Stay open and be aware.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
Solstices and equinoxes are powerful times, opening gateways and revealing new directions, options and opportunities. This week, lunar and stellar energies combine in a recipe of awakening and influence. Pay attention to issues at home and within the family. Balance male and female, positive and negative, attraction and promotion. Focus on peace.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
With so much going on in the heavens this week, whats a Virgin to do? Planetary aspects favor detachment from codependent and/or addictive patterns, investment in equanimity and overall attitudes of gratitude. Balance is the key to your success now. Take it easy, cultivate patience and recognize the gold of honesty. Each day new truths are revealed.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
The Suns conjunction with Saturn in Libra spotlights roles and responsibilities in relationships, as well as the personal work you must do to maintain your own sense of integrity, equality and equanimity. This is no time to party, but rather a time of great opportunity regarding social and professional advancement. Cultivate self-discipline and be sweet.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Mars and Venus in your sign guarantee an active, attractive week regarding romance and finance. Opportunities to pair and share abound as you see the value of sweetness and the power of action. Balance desire and passion with a let-them-come-back-to-you approach. Be the foot soldier, make the contact, and let the Universe take care of the outcome.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
Deeply entrenched views personal, social, political and spiritual are being blown apart and illuminated amidst the apparent chaos and confusion of our global economic rebalancing and correction. While you are gifted as seeing the bigger picture and taking up the sword for just causes, now is the time to hold your own. Be brave, and do the best you can.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
Wild and wacky, different and defiant, this week and these times serve to awaken and advance us socially, politically, spiritually and economically. Why, then, does it feel so weird? Shifting sand is unstable; hurricanes are frightening and lightening strikes unexpectedly. The key here is a combination of diligence and surrender. Work it one day and one step at a time.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Hang on to the railing as you walk downstairs. Be totally attentive at the wheel and look before you leap. Autumn Equinox and the Harvest Moon awaken and illuminate higher self being and present moment living. Fly above your life and view it from and eagles perspective. What do you see? Where and how can you be a better person and influence? Go for it.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
Jupiter/Uranus conjoin at 28 Pisces this week, infusing the Fish with electric light and awakening. You are somewhat of a guru or an avatar to others now, in a position to help and heal. Open you heart to goodness; forgive others for their trespasses as you do your best to gently enlighten them. Lead by example, practice forgiveness and cultivate humility.

End of Summer Beauty and Bounty, Labor and Love
The Virgo zodiac month is all about the end of summer, days grow short and nights are cooler. A touch of impending autumn is in the air and we feel the pull of seasonal change. Virgo is a mutable earth sign, which means its an energy of mutation and metamorphosis, grounded in the here and now, manifested on the material plane via our physical senses and experiences. We can actually see, smell, hear, taste, touch and feel the transformational magic of the Mother Earth, the Father Sky and the Great Spirit as fruits ripen and meadows morph from green to gold. Harvest season is upon us, firewood is being cut and gathered, kitchens are busy with canning and cleaning as we instinctively prepare for winter.

The poignant beauty of September evokes wonder, gratitude, awe and a delicate sense of sorrow. I know that the blazing days of summer heat and evenings of warm, luscious turquoise twilight have past. I can look forward to those amazing, magnificent days of Indian Summer, but, in my heart, I feel the cooling breeze of seasonal change and know the wheel has turned.
May the blessings and grace of summers end be beautiful, beneficial, bountiful and filled with the fruits of our virtuous Virgo labor and love. Happy Harvest!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
Virgo is the sign of service and self-improvement, where we seek to do and be our best. "Film" in Telluride and Returning to Revisit, Relax and Review
Mercury is retrograde in Mercury-ruled Virgo this week and will remain so until September 13th. Combined with a waning Moon, the ongoing conjunction of Mars and Venus in Libra, and incredibly dark, blue-black night skies, we are certain to have plenty of opportunity to get lost (in romance, on the road or at the movies) and be deeply intrigued by what we see, what we hear and where we end up. As always, Mercury retrograde periods favor all things beginning with the prefix re return, recharge, relax, review, regenerate, research, revise, remodel, redothe list goes on and on. Its kind of like driving in the rain, with wipers flapping and our vision slightly impaired. The world is mystical and magical, edges are blurred and distinctly delineated boundaries disappear.
Its Labor Day weekend in Telluride and that translates into what locals now affectionately refer to simply as Film the first and arguably best of all Telluride festivals - the internationally acclaimed Telluride Film Festival. An event with great class and subtle glitz, the TFF has long been a favorite of people in and out of the business of film making. The exquisite mountain beauty, down-home atmosphere and stunning end-of-summer season come together each year as a recurring dance of intellect, aesthetics and creativity perfect for the natural critiquing talents of the Virgo archetype, and an excellent fit for the current Mercury retrograde compulsion to revisit and review.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the show, wherever you may travel. Happy trails and remain open to the Great Mystery of lifes winding road. And to Claudia Cardinale - one of the 2010 TFF's honorees - you're awesome! The end scene in Once Upon A Time in the West is one of my very, very favorite pieces of film ever, ever, ever. Thank you so much.
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
Labor Day weekend delivers a black Moon, deep-dark nights and a dazzling canopy of stars upon which to map your dreams. Mars and Venus shimmer twilight magic on those willing to let go of self will, see the beauty in others, focus on goodness and cultivate healthy boundaries in relationships. Balance, peace and harmony are allies. Practice honesty.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
A week of mystery and magic presents itself as heartfelt love outweighs fear. See the bigger picture and work on doing your part, showing up and maintaining programs of self-improvement. A calm, balanced approach works best now. Pay attention to what others have to say and remain open to suggestion. Important messages are in the wind, listen!
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Blue-black night skies shimmer with stars and galaxies as the end of summer draws near. Schoolbooks, classrooms and schedules take daytime priority, but welcome fantasy following sunset. Take time to feel your heart, love your life and discover the grace of gratitude. Prepare for the upcoming Virgo New Moon via practice, purification and prayer.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Virgo energy favors acts of service and self-purification, while Libra loves peace, beauty and harmony. Combine these two archetypes for a week of balance, grace and gratitude. Recognize the power of a positive mind and the satisfaction of right action. Faith without works is dead. Focus your energy, time and attention on good work and let the universe do the rest.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
In order to be of service and give our special gifts to humanity and have them received and appreciated in ways that make us feel good - we must learn how to adapt and function skillfully in the physical, material world. Temper faith with wisdom and generosity with healthy restraint. The cosmos call for balance and commitment. Practice the art of patience.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
As we graduate from the Age of Pisces, we must address the shadow side of Virgo and release old skeletons from proverbial closets. Martyrdom, self-pity and masochistic behaviors are classic and self-defeating habits of forever-seeking perfection Virgins. Are you willing to stop the madness and calm the body, mind and spirit? Transformation comes via faith and trust in a universal spirit and the practice/art of loving-kindness. Try it!
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
You are poignantly aware of the masculine and feminine energies in yourself and others this week as Mars and Venus continue dancing duet in Libra. As the quintessential sign of peace and harmony, you inherently move toward balance in your interactions and relationships. This is good. Maintain equanimity and equilibrium, lead by example, stay calm and be cool.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Several planets including sexy Mars and seductive Venus are dancing in the mystical ethers of the invisible and divine. You may intuit love and money coming your way, but are confused as to how it will manifest. Stop thinking, worrying and asking why or when. Right now its all about self-love, self-forgiveness and overall loving-kindness. Keep the faith.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
As summer wanes and autumn beckons, you may experience pangs of desire and poignant longing for hopes and dreams you may have put to bed or laid to rest. Take a good look at your current path and determine where its leading. Its never too late to begin a journey or chart a new course. Seek out people of good character, wisdom and truth as guides.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
Understanding the basics, maintaining a daily spiritual practice and practicing the art of self-discipline are allies on the road this week. Today after years of attempting to control outcomes - you know the only thing you can even hope to control is yourself and your own behaviors. And, now is the time to do it. Do your best to be your best and leave the rest.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
A waning Moon and dark night skies create the perfect canvas for a stunning stellar masterpiece. Your current dreams and visions are painting future realities, and there is no time like the present to embrace heartfelt desire and craft an opus Magnus. Awaken to the power of now. Daily actions establish life patterns and structures. Build with care.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
Jupiter planet of faith, spiritual generosity and abundance, as well as indulgence, hubris and extravagance moved in to Pisces in Jan. 2010 and will exit in Jan. 2011, leaving you with an opened heart and an expanded world view. Embrace the grace of your great good fortune and practice the art of gratitude. Smile and be happy, after all, youre lucky and blessed.

Visible Planets: Morning: Jupiter Evening: Venus, Mars and Saturn
Men and women, Mars and Venus, the masculine and feminine
Life is all about balance and polarity. Night and day, dark and light, good and bad, boy and girl. We are individual human beings dancing a cosmic dance of action, attraction and interaction with invisible and visible forces; pursuing dreams and desires, chasing rainbows and running or hiding from what scares us. We need courage and strength to fight our battles and sweet love to nurture our souls and sustain our spirits. Its a process of push and pull, give and take, come and go, here and there, holding on and letting go. The River of Life is ever-flowing, on and on, up and down, fast and slow, around and around. Riding the rapids of change or floating the calm waters of peace and contentment, we will forever be particles and waves, electromagnetic bodies repelling and attracting the negative and positive forces of the physical and metaphysical planes.
Human survival and evolution depend upon procreation, the union of opposites male and female the process of sexual interaction that reproduces life. And in order for that to take place, a mans sperm and a womans ovum must come together the classic act of Mars and Venus bond with each other and stay together long enough to bear fruit. The miracle of birth new life is the ultimate expression of Mars/Venus, but there are plenty of Mars/Venus acts that dont result in fruitful unions. In fact, billions of Mars/Venus acts go on in every second of every day of every year, and theyve been going on for millennia! Its the game of predator and prey, win and lose, king and queen.
Why all this talk about Mars and Venus?

Throughout the month of August, all of September and the first two weeks of October, the ancient god of war Mars - and the still reigning goddess of love and beauty - Venus shimmer above the western horizon in twilight, share the billing as evening stars and remind us to do as they do: balance the dance of male and female, man and woman, boy and girl.
Transiting both peace-loving Libra [ruled by Venus] and powerful, passionate Scorpio [co-ruled by Mars] over the next several weeks, these two points of light will remain within 10 degrees of each other, constellating fortuitous opportunities in the realms of both platonic and intimate male/female relationships. Respect the motivation, instinct, ambition and drive of Mars as well as the compassion, acceptance, nurturing and loving-kindness of Venus. Balance the masculine with the feminine, understand the art of sexual attraction, pursue your prey and then become the object of pursuit. Tap in to the god and goddess within and without, seek common ground upon which to walk your earth walk and vayan con el dios y la diosa. Viva Mars y Venus!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
Venus and Mars dancing duet in your solar 7th house of partnership favors a yin/yang approach to relationships. Recognize the complementary principle of opposites via a balance of the masculine and feminine. Strong desires to pair and share may pop in and out of consciousness. Pursue attractions and then let them pursue you.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
With the Sun freshly in Virgo your solar 5th house of love and creativity along with Mars and Venus in romantic Libra, the stage is set for a zodiac month of artistically creative expression regarding whatever and whomever you find attractive. Tap in to heartfelt emotion and share it with the world. See the bounty, enjoy the beauty and embrace life as it is.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Ruler Mercury retrograde in your solar 4th house of emotional foundations carries you back through memories and experiences of youth and childhood. Practice an openhearted, spiritually generous approach to family of origin issues and watch fear and negativity disappear. Courage and kindness are allies now. Feel the love and focus on right action.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
A posse of planets in cardinal Libra encourages action regarding issues of personal emotional importance, but Mercury retrograde may cloud thinking and cause mental confusion as far as what to do. Cultivate patience and maintain balance as you wait for the mud to settle and the water to clear. Create beauty at home and find joy in lifes simplicity.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
The desire to explore the neighborhood and catch up on local gossip emerges as people come and go, in and out, back and forth. Business interest picks up, but wait to finalize deals until mid-September. Right now its all about research, discussion and options. Focus on clarification and communication. Review contracts, redesign and reinvent the dream.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
You may be surprised by the amount of energy and affection you have and feel this week. Enjoy the joy and embrace the magic. Happy and healthy are choices we make by the things we do each and every day. Stay present and focus on gratitude as you accept responsibility for your life and relationships today. Youre the vehicle and where you go is up to you.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
Venus and Mars in your sign for several weeks surrounds you with love, encourages right action and delivers plenty of personal excitement and attention. You may feel a bit overwhelmed or over-stimulated, but its all good and as it should be. Humility, balance and self-motivation are allies regarding self-conduct. Practice prayer and honor angelic contracts.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Frolicking spirits dance and delight in games of cat and mouse, boy meets girl and lover or fighter? You may feel strongly attracted to what you know is ultimately bad, but currently exciting, or simply romancing memories that really werent all that grand. Whatever the manifestation, practice living fully in the present. Romance is in the works and on the horizon.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
As summer wanes and Virgo energy waxes, review your accomplishments and be generous with your assessments. Pat yourself on the back and recognize progress. Youve been through a lot of ups, downs, pain and growth be kind and gentle with you. Friends uplift and adore you, pursue get-togethers and have some fun. Relax and count your blessings.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
Issues of achievement and progress stand out against a backdrop of international economic realities and domestic conditions. Security is a concern, but its also an illusion. Simply do your best, one move and one moment at a time. You are capable and competent; simply do the next right thing. Live with integrity and let go of your attachment to the outcome.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Review business plans and take care of loose ends. Organize files and get financial accounts in order as Mercury tracks back through your solar 8th house of joint investment and shared resources. Focus on positive action, aspects and possibilities as you take care of things one thing and one day at a time. Make lists and follow through. Be sweet and smile! Life is good.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
As the Sun crosses your solar 7th house cusp and moves above the metaphorical horizon, take note of the people, places and things you feel currently committed to. Intuit personal reflections and behaviors in your relationships and accept responsibility for your part. Mars and Venus encourage both giving and receiving in love. Maintain an open heart.

Visible Planets: Morning: Jupiter Evening: Venus, Mars and Saturn
Awakening and Change Afloat on Oceans of Emotion
Planet Uranus, the Great Awakener, has recently moved in and out of Aries - the very first sign of the tropical zodiac and, in so doing, has awakened us to whats up in the road ahead. Aries is the sign of primal instinct, self-awareness and survival. Aries is ruled by the red-planet Mars ancient god of war and champion of desire and it's the sign most associated with new beginnings, fresh cycles, initiation, motivation and action. It is a positive, masculine fire sign of cardinal modality - the energy of pursuit and prey, passion, competition, exertion and assertion. Whenever a planet moves into Aries, we enter new territory and explore new frontiers. Its also a time of rebirth and recovery, when we are called upon to reincarnate or regenerate what has died or disappeared, been destroyed or fallen into dysfunction. It heralds the revival of important ideas and forces, as well as a period of broad and significant individual and collective change.
It takes Uranus 84 years to complete one revolution around the Sun - the approximate time of one human life cycle and its movement chronicles individual life transitions, awakenings and change. Collectively, Uranus represents how, when and where we come together as friends, comrades and associates. Its the planet of fellowship and friendship, human rights and humanitarian concerns, brotherhood and sisterhood. Our sense of truth, honesty and social justice is awakened during Uranus transits, the desire to rebel or revolt often emerges and we feel compelled to join force with others of like mind and spirit in efforts for and in the name of enlightened change.
Uranus entered the watery world of Pisces in March of 2003 and has been riding the waves of the collective unconscious, floating upon oceans of emotion and sailing the seas of sympathetic sensitivity ever since. We have seen ourselves awakened to the rising tides of global warming and the unpredictability of climate change are there really more hurricanes, tsunamis and earthquakes now, or is it just that we know about them? The apparently unethical, unbridled, dishonest and potentially demonic hand of greed and brokered power has flooded lives and eroded world economies. We realize that we are simply not in control.
So, as Uranus makes it last and final pass through Pisces it will return to Aries in March of 2011 dive into those numinous waters of soul and spirit. Connect with the Creative Source, the Great Spirit, Universal Mind or Cosmic Consciousness - God as you understand God some sort of divine, invisible Presence, and surrender. Recognize the power of humility, the serenity of acceptance and the grace of gratitude. We simply cannot survive alone we are at the mercy of and dependent upon forces much greater than our individual selves. Ask your angels, pray for guidance and live in the effervescent, luminous light of the divine, eternal present. We are coming to the end of a great age and era. Its time to revitalize, regenerate and recover as we prepare for the upcoming battle of Truth and Light. Come springtime, well be ready for War. Good luck and Happy Full Moon!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
The Leo lunar cycle comes to fruition with the Aug. 20th Full Moon in early Virgo/Pisces. This rather emotional lunation reminds the Ram to temper pride and ego with compassion and humility. Recognize the part you play in relationship how do you show up for others? Self-importance and self-justification lead to self-pity, anger and resentment. Be good!
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
The solar transition from Leo to Virgo soothes the soul and opens the heart. Breathe deep and feel the healing power of nature. Daily walks, fresh air and a general attitude of gratitude align you with the inherent power, truth and beauty of living life in the present. Compassion and discretion are allies. Cultivate inner peace and maintain balance.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Fiery Leo gives way to earthy Virgo and the world is suddenly more subtle and scholastic. Preparations for school, end of summer celebrations and a general sense of seasonal change is in the air. Gather your senses and take it all in. You are returning to the source, remembering from where you came and rebirthing in the present. Embrace the winds of change.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Another Full Moon for Moonchildren - this time in Virgo/Pisces and you are being called upon to balance order and chaos, time and timelessness, fantasy and reality. Recognize the power of choice and the possibilities of perception. How you see the world is unique to you and reality is relative. Prepare for a few weeks of mental R&R take it easy, one day at a time.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
Your Happy Birthday lunar month comes to fruition in neighboring Virgo, encouraging more humility and less hubris than you might normally like to experience. Focus on truth and forget about ego. Others already see you as beautiful, creative and magnificent. What are you trying to prove? Relax and accept everything exactly as it is. Reevaluate and regenerate.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
Happy Birthday month to capable, competent Virgins. With ruler Mercury now retrograde; embrace the golden opportunity for self-renewal, regeneration and review. Treat yourself with loving-kindness and compassion as you travel down memory lane or take that personal inventory. Count your blessings and say your prayers. All is as it should be.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
Acceptance and surrender are themes this week and zodiac month. Practice the art of humility and understand the value of daily routines. Order and cleanliness are allies, while a sense of and connection to a Higher Power, Great Spirit or Angelic Presence is essential to your spiritual progress and overall physical/emotional health. Embrace life.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
The Virgo zodiac month favors order and organization balanced with a deep sense of reverence and respect for the numinous and divine. There is so much in this world and life that we cannot control almost everyone and everything external that true security comes only from within. Focus on a daily spiritual practice and cultivate inner peace.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
Wow! The beginning of the end of summer, the Virgo zodiac month marks the initiation of the scholastic year, upcoming autumn and the poignant seasonal transition from heat to cool. Get out and enjoy Mother Nature in all her beauty and bounty as you gather firewood and set store for winter. Balance home life and professional life with joy and patience.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
The ongoing and very powerful T-square in cardinal signs including Pluto in Capricorn continues to force the hand of fate and keeps the pressure on regarding real, rather than just cosmetic, change. Bottom lines in relationships and business are radically transforming. Understand the motion and momentum of the river and go with the flow.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Full Moon energy illuminates personal motives and desires as you see the meaning behind the madness and the reason for the season. Change is the only constant and riding the wave, rather than fighting the tide, is the only way to go. Maintaining a sense of goodness, doing the next right thing and staying awake and aware are all you can do. Be calm, be cool.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
The Virgo zodiac month marks the halfway point in your annual revolution around the Sun. This is the perennial time for balancing self interests with the interests of others, seeing just who shows up in your life and examining the self you see reflected in your relationships. Mercury retrograde favors reconnecting and revisiting. Make amends.

The Eternal Flame of Love after Love and Life after Life
The Perseid Meteor Shower peaks on the night of Aug. 12th/13th and I can hardly believe it. This perennial stellar event heralds, for me, the beginning of the end of summer and Im definitely in denial!
The Leo sun-time is full of passion and power, courage, strength and heart. The wild sunflowers are in full bloom, Olathe sweet corn is on the table and sweet Palisade peaches pop up at fruit stands and in local markets. The seasonal monsoon rains bring flash-floods and mudslides, dramatic lightening and crashing thunder, followed by shimmering, vibrant rainbows, magnificent sunsets and evenings of stellar beauty, peace and grace. We can feel the heartbeat of the Mother Earth, in all her power and glory.
Leo is a love sign. Its all about loving life, embracing and living it, holding it tight, close to the heart. Its hugging the people we love, kissing our babies, showing affection for others and demonstrating heartfelt emotions. Its the creative force and power of creation. Its the creative spark, the goddess within, dancing divas and magical beings, flamboyant fairies and laughing lions. Its imagination, art and romance. Its however, wherever and whenever we experience the primal power of Heart - our own life force, our personal truth, self-will and ego - our individual connection to the Divine - in all its mystery and magnificence in the moment, in the now, in the burning fire of the present.
The proud and powerful Lion stalks the jungle, pursues its prey and kills to feed its young. Whether its the king of beasts or queen of hearts, Leo is a vibrant force of spirit, willing to fight for what it feels is right and do whatever it takes to enforce its will. The fixed fire element of Leo is a flame difficult to distinguish, and the eternal, poignant power and beauty of late summer is quintessential Leo. For me, its the fire of life itself, the eternal flame of love and creation thats born in the heart and sustains life life after life, love after love. May you walk in beauty and live in love. And may you be blessed to wish upon a lucky Perseid shooting star! Happy mid-to-late summer!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
Venus, Mars and Saturn in Libra tip the scales toward relationship action and involvement. Other people and their needs may take priority over your own, but shifting the focus from me, me, me to another is the healthiest and most beneficial thing you can do. This is a powerful new phase of life where you begin thinking of and helping others. Yes!
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
The Leo sun and ongoing cardinal square push and pull the Bull in a process of awakening and change. Domestic matters and family relationships may take center stage in a rather dramatic way, and you are well aware of the dynamics that created the trauma, upset or condition. Maintain composure and know you cant live anyones life but your own.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Mercury, Geminis planetary ruler, will be in apparent retrograde motion from Aug. 20th to Sep. 13th. This week, take note of the projects youve started and plans youve made. If theres anything youve left out or neglected, get it going and then expect a brief reprieve or period of stasis during the retrograde. Just dont sign up for more than you can handle.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Sunny Leo reminds us to be authentic, loving and passionate about what we do. Its an extroverted, positive energy of masculine polarity and fixed modality. And, sometimes, its just too much for sensitive Moonchildren. This week, gather your resources and nurture your inner child. Be kind and gentle with you and maintain healthy boundaries with others.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
Happy Birthdays continue as candles flicker and presents are presented. The Leo mission is one of self-authentic, creative self-expression and it often tends toward the dramatic. This year, however, you may be feeling a bit more reserved and selective about how and where you display all that talent and beauty. Walk your talk, enjoy the joy and follow your heart.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
You may feel more capable and competent than you have in months. Congratulations! Where and how did you self-abandon that beautiful, loving, confident self? Today you understand the power of self-discipline, the benefits of self-restraint and the rewards of perseverance. Now its time to live the dream and experience the miracle. Love, peace and joy!
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
A bevy of beauties dominate the heavens as shimmering light shines upon those who ask their angels and seek divine assistance in what they do. You may feel motivated, loving toward others and also somewhat of an authority regarding life. To stay in a state of grace, maintain a daily spiritual practice, focus on humility and cultivate patience and peace.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Old devils, devas or demons may titillate, torture or taunt you this week as some rather seductive planetary powers in your solar 12th house of past and present life karma present you with what appears to be exciting, attractive possibilities. Balance the equation in the hard light of day and when you are 100% clean and sober. Then, youll know exactly what to do.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
Golden opportunities and exciting possibilities continue to pop up and tempt you to go in the direction of radical, sweeping change. The Universe supports the manifestation of your highest hopes and most cherished dreams - the only requirement is your commitment to a daily practice of spiritual and physical self-betterment. Are you willing?
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
You may feel strong pressure especially when it comes to career and social standing and challenge regarding both romance and finance this week. A poignantly powerful cardinal square places you at the center of every stage and on everyones agenda, whether you like it or not. Be as calm and cool as possible. Remember, ultimately, youre not in control.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Jupiter conjunct your ruler, Uranus, sparks demands for equal rights and civil liberties in a rapidly advancing technological world. Our earth today is wrapped in a web of interface and cyberspace, interconnected and inter-related. The international brotherhood of man is real. Carry the torch and lead by example. We are the world and you are the one.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
If youre feeling a little out of synch or out of sorts, take a deep breath and look at things from a higher perspective. Often, just a slight angle adjustment does the job. Consider others and what theyve experienced, accept them as they are and focus on what you can control or change you! Personal responsibility and self-motivation are allies. Do your best.

Visible Planets: Morning: Jupiter Evening: Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn
Astronomy & Astrology: the Visible & Invisible
The other day I had a friend come up to me and ask, Is that Mars and Saturn conjunct in the evening sky at dusk? When I responded in the affirmative, he said, Well, that explains it! and gave me a piercing, knowing look.
I always love it when people comment on the visible and invisible planets. A few years back, a woman who has risen well before dawn for years asked me about a brilliant point of light she had been watching each morning above the eastern horizon. Could it be a UFO or space station? No, it was only Venus at perihelion, awesome and dazzling in the predawn blue-black darkness.
Lately, weve been treated to a rather unusual planetary display in the western sky at twilight. Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn have been dancing together for weeks, and will continue to do so until mid-September. Its a fabulous opportunity to get to know four of the five planets visible by the naked eye. And, for those who like to go a bit deeper, its a great opportunity to combine astronomy with astrology.
How are you feeling these days and nights? Do you intuit tension and discomfort in yourself, others and the world? Do you feel yourself involved in battles of desire [Mars] and restraint [Saturn]? Are others assuming positions of authority and attempting to control you or tell you what to do [Saturn]? Are you in turn, reacting, rebelling and persisting in doing it your way, even if its self-indulgent, self-defeating or self-destructive [Mars]? Its basically self-will [Mars] surrounded by finite structure [Saturn], and theres simply no selfish way out. No matter what we want, or think we want, there are physical conditions and material realities that we must deal with. It's simply a matter of karma, i.e. cause [Mars] and effect [Saturn], action [Mars] and consequence [Saturn].
Its all about doing the next right thing - considering whats practical, efficient and realistic and then utilizing the self-discipline and patience to implement it. Its the pursuit of manifestation, the action of perseverance and the consistence of practice. And, then theres non-visible Uranus opposite these two in the eastern sky, guaranteeing that whatever we do, however we do it, radical change is on the horizon. Do your best and embrace what comes! Good luck.
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
Themes of power in personal, professional, legal and societal relationships dominate the week. You are involved in a dramatic square dance that requires patience, perseverance, forgiveness and self-love. Partners or people you care for may motivate, attempt to control or anger you. Proceed with an open heart and force yourself to do whats right.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
The Leo New Moon takes place at a time of year when cosmic energies peak. Cross-quarter electro-magnetism pushes and pulls the Bull in directions of open-minded possibility and unlimited potential. Hanging on to what no longer works is simply self-defeating and ultimately fatal. Focus on self-improvement and ask for angelic assistance. Do your best.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
A rather exciting and turbulent week presents itself as celestial energies demand courage and creativity, collaboration and commitment. You are being called upon to constructively utilize, balance and integrate ideas and resources for others education and learning. Whether teacher, professor, neighbor or friend, feel your feelings and follow your heart.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
The first of three super-moons takes place this week as the Sun and Moon conjoin in Leo, awarding you with a fortuitous opportunity to align inner values with outer circumstances. Consider whether or not youre living in a manner that supports and reinforces what you truly value, heart and soul. Awaken to awareness and see, hear and live the truth.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
Happy zodiac and lunar month! Emotions align with thoughts, heart with soul and body with spirit. Pay attention to whats going on both inside and outside. Use your word to make magic and refrain from nasty tirades or out-of-balance actions. Maintain composure amidst the chaos and utilize self-restraint in relationships. Wait until the muddy water is clear.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
You may feel highly motivated and even over-amped when it comes to taking action, earning money or pursuing what you want. Balance passion with patience and follow a practical, realistic, step-by-step program of goal achievement. Good luck is the union of preparedness and opportunity. Stay on course, do the work and focus on gratitude.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
Youre the center of the circle this week as life and love seems to be revolving around your thoughts, dreams and desires. Others see you as beautiful, capable and competent, but, somehow, youre not so sure. Gather your forces, maintain inner peace, cultivate courage and go forth with a calm and grateful heart. Everythings exactly as it should be.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Electro-magnetic sparks and cosmic vibrations awaken the angels and call upon divine forces to intervene and intercede this week. Pay attention to the people, places and things that come your way. Life is giving you signals and its imperative that you be as pure of heart and clear of mind as possible. Look for fairies, say your prayers and discover magic.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
New Moon energy in fellow fire-sign Leo uplifts and awakens you to the world of spirit. Feel your feelings and follow your heart as you tap into higher-self being and doing. Remain awake and conscious in your daily round. See the meaning behind the madness and stalk the emotions you experience when you find yourself reacting to others. Take your time.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
A rather radical week of awakening, resistance, breakthrough and forgiveness presents itself as an extremely powerful cardinal T-square demands equal rights and fair trade in professional business and personal relationships. Family matters morph and transform as power struggles continue. Maintain emotional balance and cultivate peace.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Chiron retrograde in the last degree of Aquarius reminds you to take care of your health and heal the wounds both old and new that cause you pain. Expose vulnerability, cultivate humility and get to the root of your fears via genuine, honest, open feeling and sharing. The heavens awaken to those who are willing. Be sweet, be true and be you.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
You may feel a bit shaky or rattled this week as cardinal madness and fixed-sign magnetism shimmy and shake the planet. Cross-quarter days, planetary squares and New Moon energies combine in a celestial shift of evolutionary awakening and higher consciousness. Stay grounded and do your best. Enlightenment comes in the present, each day and every step of the way.

Visible Planets: Morning: Jupiter Evening: Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn
Monsoon Rains and the Lion's Heart of Summers Past
The green, green, green of early summer has morphed into the green, gold, brown of late July. The tall meadow grass has gone to seed - it looks like wheat swaying in the morning breeze. Irrigated fields patchwork the mesa in shades of emerald green and cheery yellow sunflowers dance along the roadsides. The winter snow has melted on the peaks and monsoon rains flash-flood canyons and valleys, causing mudslides and stopping traffic. Rainbows blaze and hummingbirds feast, while bluebirds perch on fence posts and teach their young how to hunt insects in the verdant grass below.
The San Miguel Basin Fair and Rodeo has come and gone, which means August is on the horizon. School will be starting soon. The hot, dry, sizzle of summer is giving way to cooler nights and humid, dew-filled mornings. A sense of nostalgia and romantic longing is in the air. I want to grasp the beauty, embrace the magnificence and hold it tight.
The strong, courageous Leo heart is aflame with passion, memory and magic. I drift back to the long, languid, lazy days of summers past - swimming pools and tennis courts, my first love and the warm nights, twinkling lights and shimmering stars. Fragrant flowers, the sound of crickets and smell of freshly cut grass. I remember the magic and feel the hope and faith, joy, wonder and happiness of childhood - the romantic longings and mystery of life before me. Today my inner child is alive and well, loving and laughing in the light of Leo fire, hoping and wishing, seeking and finding, still wondering and still traveling - doing the best I can.
May the courageous, creative heart of the Lion be with us all. Good luck and happy trails!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
Mars, ancient god of war and modern ruler of Aries, marches through the first degrees of Libra this week, pushing people and partnerships your way. Focus on grace and equilibrium as you balance personal needs with those of others. A binding contract or commitment may present itself. Take your time and consider its value. Change is in the air.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
As Mercury and Venus move through your solar 5th house of love and romance, you may feel like expressing thoughts to or making contact with someone you find especially attractive. Travel for pleasure is also an option. Commitments to programs of service and self-improvement are favored. Move in the direction of a daily spiritual practice yes, you!
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
A waning Moon and shining Leo Sun encourage creative thoughts generated via rest and relaxation. A stay-at-home or close to home approach remember, home is where the heart is works best. Observe emotional reactions to exterior circumstances. Feel the feelings and heal the wounds. Channel energy in positive ways, smile and choose joy.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
With your birthday now under your belt and a fresh horizon at your door, take time to make a plan and chart your course. Maps and guides are tremendously helpful when it comes to figuring out which way to go. Discuss options with partners or mates and take care of tasks and chores at home as you live in the present and look toward the future.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
Happy birthdays continue as candles glimmer and cakes abound. Recognize the power of choice as you travel the road and walk a path of heart. Personal responsibility is the key to both happiness and freedom. Others are here as teachers and guides, while you are ultimately the creator. Embrace the divine and co-create an opus Magnus.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
Others see you as beautiful, intelligent, creative and attractive in more ways than you can count. Why the long face and funky attitude? Is it because youve worked so hard and havent seemed to get the recognition or reward you think you deserve? Lighten up and accept what is. Lifes too mysterious to take it that serious. Laugh, love and be here now.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
Impatient Mars and cautious Saturn come together this week in early Libra, simultaneously pushing you forward and holding you back. Its as if the start/stop button is stuck on both red and green. Breathe deep and know that this too shall pass. Why get wigged out, angry or frustrated over things you cant control? Practice patience and do your chores.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Simple, slow and easy works here while hard, fast and strong works there. Pay attention to technique this week as you are called upon to turn negatives into positives and make lemonade out of lemons. You may feel burdened with the impossible, but remember the power and magic of angelic assistance, divine intercession and prayer. Follow the light.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
Leo loves the Archer and mid-summer sizzles with open-ended possibilities and unlimited potential. Be positive and enthusiastic in matters of the heart. Others look to you for guidance, direction and assistance on the rocky road of life. Be a virtuous model and lead by example. Commit to friendship, open to change and go for goodness.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
The cardinal conjunction of Mars and Saturn in your solar 10th house of reputation and status may pressure you into a situation you find both exciting and scary. Temper fear with courage and recognize the wisdom of uncertainty. Attempting to control other people and lifes outcomes is futile and frustrating. Be cool, give it your best and accept what comes.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
You may experience some interesting things via friends and associates this week as a planetary stop and go effects the quality and quantity of your friendships. Be patient with some and pushy with others. Maintain composure and take action. Identify future hopes and dreams and carve out a plan or strategy on how to make it happen - one day at a time.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
With the Sun now in your solar 6th house of health, service and self-improvement, you may discover that youre willing to do whatever it takes to be happy, healthy and wealthy. Diet, rest and exercise are key to your success. Combine daily walks, work, love and laughter with a committed spiritual practice and experience the magic of metamorphosis.

Full Moon Golden Hearted Leo with the Wild Wisdom of Aquarius

On Sunday, July 25th @ 7:37 p.m. MDT, the July 11th New Moon solar eclipse cycle comes to fruition in the opposition aspect of a Full Moon. This lunation takes place in the Leo/Aquarius polarity @ 0300 and therefore packs plenty of power when it comes to matters of the heart.
Last year just like this year - our summer eclipses occurred in the Cancer/Capricorn polarity, focusing on the issues of Mother/Father/child, home and family, nurturing, dependence, control and/or authority. We experienced and examined the life and death of pop icon Michael Jackson in all its glory, sorrow, success and failure. Collectively, we moved through the drama and tragedy of a creative child prodigy, a puer eternus that imagined himself forever young, danced like no others and continually delivered breathtaking, breakthrough performances that rocked the world. No matter what we thought of Jacko and his weird, avant-guarde lifestyle, his story touched our souls.
Today Michael is no longer here in physical form, but his spirit lives on. Here on Earth, we still hear his music and remember his moves, but our focus is in the living, breathing present. How to deal with new economic realities, balance financial equations, nurture ourselves, our loved ones and our Mother Earth in ways that are healthful and sustainable?
This is the bottom line and major message of the 2010 summer eclipse cycle. Where have we lost self-discipline, faltered in responsibility or given away our power? Cancer/Capricorn wants us to balance sweet sensitivity with capable calculation. Its all about feeling and healing, maintaining healthy boundaries and showing up for others and ourselves in kind but practical, compassionate and realistic ways.
This weeks Full Moon in Leo/Aquarius brings us out of the maternal/paternal imperative of Cancer/Capricorn and takes us to the land of individual creative self-expression and shared, common interest. It is where we craft idealistic dreams and collective visions, fight lion-hearted battles of love and romance, arm ourselves with courage and step forward into evolutionary, cutting-edge groups and fellowships. Its all about saving yourself and the world, doing the next right thing and having fun while youre at it.
Good luck and may the golden heart of the Lion and wild wisdom of the Waterbearer be with you. Happy Full Moon!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
Jupiter stations retrograde in Aries this week, amplifying themes of spirituality, positive perspectives and optimistic attitudes. We often resist whats ultimately best for us and persist in habits or behaviors that are not. This influence encourages us to embrace our inherent goodness and nurture its growth. Awaken to self-awareness and do the next right thing.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
The Leo/Aquarius full Moon on July 26th may force change - or at least awaken you to what needs to change in your most personal and close-to-the-heart relationships. The ways you perceive, interact and relate to others may need an adjustment of the heart. Focus on your part rather than theirs. Changing your own behavior will change others as well.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Saturn reenters Libra and makes its fifth and final exact opposition to Uranus this week, challenging a direct face-off between the old and new. Pay attention to your own personal feelings and reactions as the world shape-shifts and meta-morphs radical realities and unprecedented events. The key to balance lies within, open your heart with love and kindness.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
We have arrived at a pivotal time on Planet Earth. What is your mission and how can you best fulfill your destiny? Soul and heart desires run wild this week as full Moon energy illuminates issues of self-will vs. the will of others. Future outcomes are determined by daily practice, maintain a spiritual consciousness and do the work. Character is destiny.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
The July full Moon is one of the natural zodiacs two party Moons, a lunation of heart, filled with lots of fun, love and romantic opportunity. This year, however, be aware of the rather radical and over-the-top influence of Jupiter/Uranus and the karmic consequences that are sure to follow any less-than-responsible behavior. Be cautious and stay cool.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
The world shakes and shatters as planetary placements pull us back and push us forward in a metaphysical dance of old vs. new. What no longer works, what has been exposed as destructive or dysfunctional and what serves no positive purpose must go. You may feel personally involved or part of the sacrifice. Let go and ride the rushing river. Learn to swim.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
Master Teacher Saturn enters your sign for an extended stay this week, and in the process, makes a powerful opposition to wildcat Uranus. This translates as a snap, crackle, pop influence that reverberates awakening, awareness and rebirth. Consciously change your patterns, try new techniques and embrace the wisdom of daily practice. One day at a time.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
You may feel a little stress and strain as the Moon comes to fruition the evening of July 25th. Know that youre exactly where you should be, a receptor and vehicle of divine will. Open your heart and head to the mysterious, mystical forces of the Universe. Perhaps you really arent in control. Ground yourself on Earth and keep your heart open to Spirit.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
You may feel uplifted or excited by people and life in general as the Moon grows full and you are awakened to the multi-faceted possibilities and potential of living with an open mind and a grateful heart. Grace is a phenomena experienced via acceptance, humility and compassion. Awaken to love, commit to a practice and be your own best friend.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
Power-hungry Pluto in the early degrees of your sign squares Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter this week, adding great tension to the nuts-and-bolts construction of your daily life and world. Take a deep breath, travel the high road and view it all from a more enlightened spiritual perspective. Seek assistance and guidance as you open the doors to dramatic change.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
You are part and parcel of the rip-and-roar potential of the week. With summer in full force and lunar light on high-beam, you may feel as good as youve felt in weeks. Pace yourself and take it one step and one move at a time. Let others talk and help guide the course of action. Be a good player, partner and participant. Consider the options and choose well.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
You may feel as if youre stuck in a recurring drama of chaos, change, feeling and healing when it comes to relationships. Good ones, bad ones, fat ones, skinny ones, its all in a days work. Humor is your ally and acceptance is your tonic. Focus on your own good works and lead by example. And dont forget to have fun. After all, isnt it all a mystery?

Visible Planets: Morning: Jupiter Evening: Mercury, Venus, Mars and Saturn
The Mother Earth Embraces the Proud, Courageous Lion
Summer is in full force as the Cancer zodiac month draws to a close. The sweltering heat sucks moisture from the land and towering cumulus clouds rise up above the wide expanse of Wrights Mesa. Magnificent sunsets give way to a delicate crescent Moon cradling brilliant Venus in turquoise twilight. The nights are warm and embracing. I feel blessed and fortunate to be here now, close to Mother Nature, witnessing the eternal dance of the stars and planets - here on Earth - a part of life, as we know it.
Today I think of Mother and family, homes and children, security and sustenance. We must nurture ourselves and our loved ones to be happy and healthy, capable and confident. We must water our gardens, make our beds, eat good food, tend to our chores and show up for others and ourselves when its needed and necessary. The amount of love and quality of nurturing we bestow upon what we care for equals the amount of love and quality of life we experience in return. Everything in life is an equation, a balancing system of cause and effect. In nature, there is no reward or punishment, there is only consequence.
In the Northern Hemisphere, our annual cycle around the Sun gifts us with the sensations of seasonal change. We entrain with and transform in a process of magical metamorphosis. The natural zodiac wheel turns and evolves from one sign to the next, each one preparing for and leading in to what lies ahead. So, as cuddly Cancer prepares us for courageous Leo, let us count our blessings, treat each other with kindness and compassion, honor the great beauty and bounty of our Mother and nurture our way toward the passionate path of the proud, generous, loving, strong-of-heart Lion. God bless and may the power of the Sun, Earth, Moon and stars be with you!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
The last week of Cancer favors acts of self-care and self-nurturing combined with loving, compassionate action toward others. Its simply no longer possible to avoid the truth when it comes to self-indulgent, self-serving habits and behaviors. The time has come for sweeping, dramatic change. Focus on doing the next right thing, live in the present and let go.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
As the fresh, new Cancer lunar cycle unfolds, count your blessings and say your prayers. Good communication is key to your overall success now, and this includes connecting to the world of spirit. Listen carefully to what others have to say and pay attention to feelings and messages that come via intuition or unusual circumstance. Relax and breathe.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Matters of financial security, earning power and income in general have dominated the scene for several weeks. Somehow, you instinctively know that all is as it should be, but that said, you might still be victim to bouts of fear and doubt. Maintain momentum, be on time, meet deadlines and know the future is in the present. Simply do your best and keep the faith.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
What a month its been! Two eclipses in your sign translate as a time of great personal impact and self-generated power. The stars have lined up for a stellar year of new beginnings and fresh frontiers. Gather courage and cultivate self-confidence as you pack your bags and prepare for the journey of a lifetime. The cosmos favor sweet success. Go forth and grow!
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
The recent New Moon solar eclipse shook the heavens and showered you with shining stars and shimmering angelic presence. Look for the glimmering glow of hope and love on the faces of others and let it fill your heart with light. Stay positive amidst lifes chaos and drama dont let it get you down and know you are blessed. Acceptance is the answer.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
Plenty of action and reactions over the last few weeks may have taken its toll, but, all in all, its happening exactly as it should be. Accepting life as it is, as it comes, can be challenging. But, how about letting go of resistance, going with the flow and simply doing the best you can in the now? Youve been carving out a new life and new you. Let it be. Be you.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
The Cancer zodiac month and potent ecliptic power in orb has pushed you in new directions of awakening and awareness. Youve had to let go of habits and behaviors that no longer serve a positive purpose, purge the old and embrace uncertainty. Fresh and ready, young and old, you face a brave new world of unlimited possibility and potential. Keep the faith.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
As you prepare for month of increasing responsibility and social visibility, take some time out to explore the possibilities and potential of travel. Perhaps its time to go beyond the proverbial horizon and explore the world. At the very least, research and consider the options. Your gifts and talents may find happiness in a bigger venue, on a larger stage.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
Steamy emotions and emotional reactions regarding joint investment, shared finance, secret dealings and psychological or physical intimacy may have created distance or discomfort in your relationships. Dont worry or brood over what has come and gone. Everything happens for good reason and the gift comes via acceptance. Nurture inner peace.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
Unusual happenings are par for the course these days. Other people, external circumstance and events taking place outside of your body, house and home seem to have a way of creeping into your life and lifeblood. Remain as calm as possible and maintain healthy boundaries. Know the difference between your stuff and their stuff. Focus on your own.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Neptune retrograde in Aquarius may have placed you in a period of rest or recovery, a time ripe for spiritual exploration and self-reflection. Do the inner work and discover whats going on inside your heart and head. Life is often too fast and too busy to take time to appreciate the weather, watch the sunsets or gaze at the stars. The time is now. Enjoy the show!
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
Indulge yourself in the love of mother and Mother Nature as summer seduces your senses and soothes your soul. Warm nights and lazy days create a season of fun and romance, light and laughter. Refrain from worry and cultivate attitudes of gratitude as you see beauty and embrace grace. Happiness is a choice. Live in the present and be here now.

Visible Planets: Morning: Jupiter Evening: Venus, Mars and Saturn
The Cancer New Moon Solar Eclipse: "Honor thy Mother"
This week, on July 11th, the Sun and Moon come together @ 1924 Cancer in the exact planetary aspect of a total solar eclipse. Although visibility occurs only in the Southern Pacific Ocean and lower South America, the cosmological effects take place all over the entire globe.
Cancer is the quintessential sign of Mother and mothering, home and family, childhood innocence and childlike vulnerability. Its also where and when we feel dependent and scared, seek comfort and court security. Its the part of us that fiercely protects and nurtures life, our primal instinct to care take and be taken care of - the unified field of mother and child. The suckling baby and the loving mother, the parent who stays home rather than pursue a career and the parent who works hard to put food on the table and provide for the family are all manifestations of this very strong and powerful, yet gentle and sensitive cardinal water sign.
In the Cancer zodiac month, summer is in full bloom. The Mother Earth reaches out with her blazing beauty and sweltering heat to embrace and envelope us with her seductive, sensual power. Brilliant blossoms and succulent fruits appear in her gardens and orchards, billowing cumulus clouds rise above swaying fields and torrential rains are followed by rainbows of shimmering, vibrant color. It is here that we are nurtured and sustained by the bounty of our natural world and we are held tightly to the breast of the Great Mother.
As the days and nights prior to the July 11th New Moon solar eclipse unfold, take time out to think about mothers and children, your own mother and mothers everywhere. How do you feel about our Mother Earth? Count the many ways she nurtures and sustains you. Consider how well you are taking care of yourself, your environment and the ones you love. This powerful eclipse lunation provides all of us with rich, fertile soil for planting seeds of new life in the fields of self-care and self-love, caring for others and nurturing the planet in ways that encourage and sustain health and natural wealth. Theres simply no time like the ever-eternal present to Honor thy Mother!
And Id like to send out a special wish to my beautiful, sweet, nurturing niece, Devan a young mother now herself, and one who celebrates her birthday on the eclipse day of July 11th. May you walk in beauty, shine with love and shimmer with joy. Youre a shining example of everything a magical, mystical Cancer girl-woman could ever hope to be. Embrace the Magic and live the Mystery. Happy Birthday, sabrina mia!

In Telluride, summer begins and ends on the 4th of July
When I first moved to Telluride, back in the late 70s, there were two sets of elderly twin sisters the Wunderlichs and the Rinquists that represented summer in the San Juans as the shortest season of the year. The verdant aspen, the lush green valley floor, the stunning waterfalls and magnificent wildflowers painted a canvas of captivating, but fleeting, beauty. The black and white valley cows grazed peacefully against the backdrop of Ingram Falls, the town was small and quiet, hard-to-get-to and relatively unknown. The biggest event of summer came on the 4th of July, when the town ignited with flags, parades and games of sport. Native American Ute Indians came up to join in the festivities, the volunteer fire department cooked up a barbeque feast in town park and, when darkness came, deafening blasts and sizzling fireworks rocked the raucous crowd with oohs and aahhs, whistles and wows.
Today, the setting is much the same. Thanks to Mother Nature, the luscious greens and gushing waterfalls continue to enthrall and entice, soothe and seduce us. We have prairie dogs instead of cattle and the town has grown in size and scope - along with the parade, barbeque and fireworks but the down home feel and mountain magic remains. Its something that those who have the great good fortune to be here never forget.
And, no matter where you are on this national holiday, summer is in full force. Our short mountain summers and the long, hot summers of the lowlands honor the Mom, home and apple pie energy of Cancer, the sign of nurturing and comfort, safety and security. As we celebrate the glory of the red, white and blue, we are united as a family the family of Americans one nation, under God; proud, courageous and free.
May your day be one of glory, freedom, hope, faith, joy and love. Feliz Dia de la Independencia!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
The summer eclipse window opens to breezes of change and adjustment as you process the events, experiences and emotions of the previous week. The waning Moon favors a kind and gentle personal inventory, calm acceptance and fortitude in the face of challenge. Look for the mystical and divine at work in your life and connect through prayer.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
The 4th of July is forever a time of nostalgic remembrance and loving intentions for the Bull. Do your best to make this week one of inner peace and outer acceptance. Eclipse energy encourages themes of nurturing, kindness and compassion. Be a loving parent or child, treat yourself to a family tradition and express to others the gratitude in your heart.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Independence and freedom are themes this week, but underneath the fireworks and festivities, a loving heart and an inner child need hugs, attention and nurturing. Treat yourself like youd like others to treat you and simply recognize the basic goodness inherent in all life.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
The recent full Moon lunar eclipse in the Cancer/Capricorn polarity functioned as a brilliant light of awareness and awakening regarding your personal role and responsibility in your most important relationships. Issues of control, authority and leadership must be tempered with loving kindness and compassion. Focus on good health body, mind and spirit.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
You may find yourself thinking about or reliving the past, feeling connections to those whove passed on or simply indulging in nostalgic longing. Recognize the poignant beauty of remembrance, but embrace the present and seize the day. Life is for the living and the time is now. Eclipse energy encourages a new spiritual life. Discover a path of heart.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
Guardian spirits and angelic presence surround you now. Look for signs from Mother Nature, unusual circumstance, vivid dreams and intuitive feelings. Friends and fellowships encourage and assist progress this week. Stay on the path and keep your heart and mind open to the process and power of spirit. Stay calm, breathe deep and do the next right thing.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
Assumptions and speculations do not take care of business today. Stay in the present and work on whats right in front of you, one day at a time. Glimmering horizons loom as career goals and achievement desires continue the process of transformation and metamorphosis. Identify intentions and desires, then let the universe provide and manifest.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
The summer eclipse cycle is one of great opportunity regarding enlightened change. How healthy are you spiritually? Most physical and emotional problems are rooted in spirit. You may want money or power, fame, success, sex and romance or passionate intimacy, but to experience them, you must first be spiritually fit. Focus on spiritual self-nurturing.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
Feeling slightly out-of-synch with the universe or simply not willing to go with the flow? Focus on the power of choice and do the best you can to make the right ones. Feel your heart and follow its wisdom. Consider the people and places with which you partner, invest and share intimacy. Examine motives and be willing to amend behaviors. Stay open to change.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
Major change and awakening is par for the course as rather radical events and experiences demand attention and time. Accept responsibility for your part as you encourage others to do the same. Each of us walk a different road, we cannot save or rescue anyone. Love, honesty and compassion are allies. Remain calm, do what you can and then let go.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
We cant control the weather, Mother Nature or other people no matter how hard we try. Solutions come via calm acceptance and doing what we can to take good care of ourselves and our own back yards. Telling others how to fix or run their lives, giving advice or attempting to rescue only interferes and postpones. Lead by attraction, rather than promotion.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
Getting together with people of common interest or mutual enterprise opens doors on a multi-faceted world of potential and possibility. Seek out individuals that inspire greatness or live in a manner you respect. Personal authority and autonomy must be tempered with compassion and sensitivity to others place and space. Focus on goodness.

Memories of Summer and a Cancer/Capricorn Lunar Eclipse
Im flashing on this time of year and all the memories I have of summer.
Laying in the lush green grass of my childhood home in Denver on a warm summer evening in shorts and a tank top - watching brilliant Venus glimmer and glow in turquoise twilight, kissing a slender crescent Moon and calling to me above the deep blue silhouette of the majestic Rocky Mountains the distinctive shape of Mount Evans and the twinkling lights of the Mile High City below
I can remember dreaming of handsome boys and romantic possibilities. So young and full of hope, the world before me and my life an open road. And, yes, there were young men and sweet embraces, porch swings and midnight kisses, 56 Chevys and hours of sunbathing in the backyard with my two sisters, working on our tans. Tennis and swimming, laughing and lounging, loving every minute of the long, hot summer.
Today, Venus still shimmers above the western horizon at dusk in turquoise twilight. My mountain silhouette has shape-shifted from an enormous geologic uplift to the graceful volcanic ghosts of the La Sals in Utah. The vast expanse of Denvers city lights have been replaced by the delicate, twinkling lights of Norwood. But, the grass still smells as sweet and the sizzling, intoxicating power of summer remains the same.
This week, at 5:30 a.m. MDT on Jun. 26th, the Sun and Moon form the exact conjunction aspect of a lunar eclipse. Taking place @ 0446 Cancer/Capricorn, this eclipse illuminates all issues of Mother, home and apple pie, our love and security quotients and the ways in which we give and receive nurturing, as well as all matters of personal and collective authority, whos in charge and who and what we respect and admire. Take a good look at your goals, your own personal definition of security and whether or not youre traveling not only a road of personal authority and autonomy, but a road and path of heart. Good luck, good love and may the nurturing power of summer comfort, uplift and inspire you. Happy Lunar Eclipse!
