Embrace the Moment, Seize the Day...
By the time you read these words, I'll be on the road, heading back home to Colorado.
I'm writing this column two weeks in advance so I can email it long before it's due. We are preparing to leave our little Mexican hideout here on the East Cape and head north, toward los Estados Unidos the United States in less than a week. It will take another week to drive the 1,000 mile peninsula, cross the border and then diagonal northeast across the last 700 miles through California, Arizona, Utah and southwest Colorado to home.
I am counting the days to blast-off. I always do because it's always hard to believe that we'll actually be gone; gone from the shining Sea of Cortez, the soft, sandy beaches and the gently breaking waves. The magical sunsets and brilliant colors of breaking dawn, the pelicans skimming the translucent aqua surf, moonlight glimmering on gracefully swaying palms, the stellar shimmering shape of the Scorpion rising straight up in the blue-black darkness before day. I learned long ago to live in the ever-present now; embrace the moment - carpe diem - seize the day. I know today that speculating about the future, living in the "what ifs" and the projections of "what might be" is as useless as living in the past and dwelling on what might have been.
I love my life; I am grateful and blessed. I can feel the power of the Mother Earth wherever I go, whatever I do. Adios to the sun-baked colors of Mexico, the 80 temperatures and the language of Spanglish. Here we go - aqui nos vamos - into the beautiful north. Hasta luego!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Voluptuous Venus embraces wild Uranus and discovers that love and life are more unpredictable than ever. Inherently comfortable with excitement, youre good at meeting challenges head-on, dealing with uncertainty and quickly moving forward. Embrace the present, accept what comes and make positive changes for long-lasting results.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) You may be asked for advice and guidance in a professional field or family matter. Others see you as a capable, competent leader and one who has enough practical experience to know what to do. While this may feel challenging, its actually right up your alley. Simply call upon your own personal history and share it. Then let others go from there.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) With half the planets in early degrees and the other half in late degrees, you may find yourself reaping rewards and ending cycles as well as initiating new projects and starting fresh. Use experience, strength and hope in both. Great inspiration comes via interactions with people who share common interests and passions. Get out and discover camaraderie.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) A career change or professional discovery may surprise and enlighten you this week as artistic Venus pairs up with exciting Uranus in your solar 10th house of achievement. A sudden romantic attraction to someone famous or successful, a financial loss or gain, or breakthrough of sorts is likely. When these two get together, anything is possible!
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Partnership issues continue as a priority this week, but hang on to your hat! Venus and Uranus paired up in red-hot Aries will surely to light your fire when it comes to political and social issues. Tap into your highest self and see beyond the limiting restrictions of rigid belief systems and life philosophies. Youre here on Earth to have fun and share love. Do it!
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) As mighty Mars continues its retrograde march through Virgo, remember to take it easy and simply do the best you can one day at a time. You are walking upon the golden road of re-creation, where you encounter old friends and abandoned dreams. Resurrect, rekindle and revive or finally let them go. Realistically prioritize and discern, purge, delete and discard.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Expect the unexpected when it comes to others this week. Ruler Venus is dancing with revolutionary Uranus in your solar 7th house of long-term relationships the sky is the limit! Think positive and be pro-active as you interact, make contact and spend time with the most important people in your life. Change is a constant, embrace the new and enjoy it.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Be well advised that you are looking into a crystal ball of divinely inspired creativity for many years to come. Numinous Neptune has entered your solar 5th house of the heart love, romance, creative self-expression and art. This translates as a time to connect with dreams and visions, pay attention to signs and omens and follow intuition. Relax and go with the flow.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Vixen Venus embraces wild Uranus in an exciting dance of love and money this week and the results are unpredictable. Prepare for uncertainty and enjoyment as a whirlwind of financial and romantic possibilities present themselves. Whatever comes may not last, but it will be a powerfully potent experience, non-the-less. Be true and self-authentic.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Antithetical energies conjoin as shocking, disruptive Uranus and peace-loving Venus pair up in fiery Aries. You may awaken to great paradox as polarities connect and solutions emerge. Look for combinations of self-interest and diplomacy, rigorous honesty and compassionate understanding. Inner change is outer change. Be truthful.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) The heavens rock and roll this week as sweet Venus and radical Uranus join force in fiery Aries. Not always so, but now, its true just be you! Others seem to be somewhat enamored by your unique life and want to hear to what you have to say. For best results, couple self-authenticity and honesty with a pleasant delivery and loving embrace. Live and let go.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) A breakthrough regarding personal responsibility in relationships is favored as Uranus, the Great Awakener, pairs up with partnership oriented Venus in your solar 2nd house of self-reliance. You can see exactly how youve created what you share with others. Self-care and acceptance are allies here. Keep your own house clean and let others do the same.

The Leo Aquarius Full Moon: Rev-limiters and Check Valves
This weeks February 7th full Moon takes place at 2:54 p.m. MST @ 1832 Leo/Aquarius, and brings to fruition the January 23rd Aquarius new Moon that gave birth to the Chinese New Year of the Dragon 4710. Full of life and spirit, Leo/Aquarius full Moons one in summer and one in winter are the years two most flamboyant lunations. This is when the romantic, courageous heart of the Lion pairs up with the wild and crazy, inventive soul of the revolutionary rebel, Aquarius, and traditionally - all *&%# breaks loose.
This year, however, we are under the influence of a retroactive, retrograde Mars in Virgo, a Saturn station in Libra, and an ongoing battle between radical Uranus in independent Aries and obsessive Pluto in controlling Capricorn. Translation: motivations and desires to get out there or throw caution to the wind when it comes to affairs of the heart or wild, crazy games of chance are being throttled down by some mysterious cosmic rev-limiter that kicks in when we get going too fast or far. Its like an internal check-valve or dashboard warning light that reminds us to slow down, check the oil and make sure theres enough fuel in the tank to make it home safe and sound. Added to this, good-luck, good-fortune Jupiter which usually encourages us to take risks and pull out the stops is moving through steadfast Taurus, favoring a slower pace and a more practical, productive approach to life and love. Its more about holding on to what we have than chasing what we dont! Of course, this doesnt mean it wont be fun, just more real, and if we dont pay attention to the warning lights, we will have to pay!
Sweet, romantic Venus also moves into fiery Aries on the full Moon day, igniting individual passions and reminding us that happiness is an inside job. Self-awareness, self-sufficiency and self-authenticity are themes. So, with Aquarian unity in diversity where each persons uniqueness is honored and included as an integral part of the whole and the courageous, shining, passionate love of Leo, may we celebrate this months magnificent full Moon with the rewards of self-responsibility, the blessings of camaraderie and the freedom to pursue our deepest desires.
Love your neighbor and follow your heart. Happy Full Moon!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Subtle but major energetic shifts take place this week as numinous Neptune enters dreamy Pisces, serious Saturn goes retrograde in artistic Libra and voluptuous Venus enters passionate Aries. All this under the illuminating light of the full Moon. Bring a long-time-coming aspiration into form, commit to a program of focused attention and create!
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) The Aquarius/Leo full Moon is one of the years two party Moons, an excellent time for social activities and gatherings for people of like mind an spirit. The entire week favors get-togethers with friends, family and fellowships. Put your best foot and happy face forward, smile and enjoy the many blessings of life as you live it. Return to love and give your best.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) Friendship and fellowship are themes this week as the Aquarius full Moon amplifies the magnetic power of love-planet Venus moving into your solar 11th house of comrades and camaraderie. Observe the obvious and read the signs, life is sending you signals. The world and its inhabitants are ready and willing to help and assist. Get out and about.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) This weeks full Moon lunation marks the fruition of a personally important relationship commitment or partnership, when pieces of the puzzle fall into place. Identify what you can do and what you cannot, what you want and what you dont. Accept responsibility for your part, suit up and show up. Reality is beautiful, live in the beauty.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Cool the jets and calm the waters with peace and quiet, gratitude and grace. You may feel pushed and pulled by personal responsibilities and social obligations as the Moon grows full. Pace yourself with plenty of rest, daily exercise, healthy pastimes, good food and natural environments. Seek and you shall find; keep the faith.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Mars retrograde in your sign continues to favor taking care of all those things youve wanted to take care of for days, weeks and months. Whether its cleaning closets, making amends or committing and then maintaining programs of self-improvement, now is the time. The stars have lined up to favor it all, just for you. After all, youre worth it!
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Master Teacher Saturn goes retrograde this week in Libra and remains so until late June, when it goes direct. This translates as a magnificent time to dive into anything and everything youve wanted to purge, discard, resurrect, reconstruct or finish. Sit down and take a major personal inventory, be realistic and practical. Youre on the golden path!
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) This weeks Leo/Aquarius full Moon offers the Scorpion plenty of choice when it comes to getting out and about. But, somehow, you may not feel like going to the party or comfortable with the clan. Whatever the manifestation, monitor indulgence and moderate when it comes to crazy ideas and outlandish activities. Love is found close to home, relax.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) As velvety Venus moves from fellow mutable sign Pisces to fiery Aries, you may feel your heart ignite with passion and desire. Or perhaps you find yourself longing for true romance and yearning for love. Whatever you hope or dream to be or have, look forward to several weeks of pleasant times with attractive people and places. Follow your heart.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Full Moons are times of illumination, when people, places and projects come to light. Clarity and fruition are characteristic aspects of this lunation; solutions emerge and possibilities manifest. Observe the players, watch show and let the mud settle as you prepare for action. Accept responsibility for your choices and refrain from blaming others.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) Happy birthdays continue as the Moon grows full. Accept life on lifes terms as you celebrate the awesome beauty and bounty of living on our magnificent planet Earth. Plan your special day with love and care, treat yourself to activities, people and places you truly enjoy. Eat out or in, depending on your preference. Do good, be good and feel good!
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) Your ruling planet Neptune moves into your sign this week and will remain there for several years. This heralds a very long, extended period of spiritual illumination and divine transmission, when you move ever closer to the mysterious, miraculous and divine. Sound daunting and ineffable? No worries! The movement is slow and embracing, youll love it!

Visible Planets: Morning: Mars and Saturn Evening: Venus and Jupiter
The Aquarius Lunar Month and Lunar Year 4710 of the Dragon
The first week of the Aquarius zodiac month reminds me that days are getting longer. It wont be long before we see the morphing of the seasons; mountain bluebirds show up in the West End shortly after Valentines Day and by then, spring equinox is little more than a month away.
Down here on the Tropic of Cancer, the slender slip of a waning crescent Moon rises in darkness above the salty Sea of Cortez like a lone happy-face smile or exquisitely shaped bowl of glowing amber light. The 23 latitude puts the Earth-to-Moon perspective in perfect balance, there is no visible tilt or slant; its a luminous cup waiting to be filled with dreamers dreams, lovers hopes and childrens wishes. Its the fertile receptacle of ancient myth and witchs brew, the cosmic mother, the goddess of night.
In the first hour of January 23rd the Sun and Moon came together at 0242 Aquarius to form the exact conjunction aspect of an Aquarius New Moon. That same day at sunset, the world marked the advent of Chinese New Year 4710, lunar year of the Dragon. Wow! Its another chance for yearly resolutions and fresh starts. An opportunity to redefine, refine and recommit to programs of self-improvement and self-care; a celestial window for rebirth, regeneration and renewal. And this time, the window is framed in the electric-blue colors of Aquarius; the picture is one of idealistic vision and evolutionary intention. All beneath the maternal, shimmering moonbeams of lunar love and light.
We have reached the Julian Calendar year count of 2012. The Chinese lunar year count is 4710. 2+0+1+2 = 5. 4+7+1+0 = 12 and 1+2 = 3. 5+3 = 8. According to Mayan and other Mesoamerican teachings, we are currently living in the 5th World or Sun, giving birth the 6th Sun. This is a time of great responsibility, creativity and power, when we are being asked to live our lives as consciously and intentionally as possible. Numerologically speaking, we are at a point of great cosmic choice, when what we do, say and think has an immediate effect and infinite resonance upon the planet Earth, the universe and cosmos.
May we walk in beauty and live in peace. Blessingsawake!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) The Suns entrance into unconventional Aquarius reminds the Ram that things are not always as they seem. Look for the quirks, questions and solutions that most people overlook and consider outlandish. Think outside the box, travel the road less traveled. Most of all, surround yourself with people of visionary light, good intention and right action.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) You may be called upon to come up with a solution for a group or society, take on a leadership role or guide others through a rather stormy sea. Whatever the manifestation, combine compassion with your naturally inherent talent for making practical, realistic choices and decisions, for the good of all concerned. Calm composure is your ally. Follow the signs.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) With man-of-war Mars now retrograde in Virgo, your solar 4th house of home and family, you may find yourself retracing steps or revisiting situations with parents, siblings or children. And they may not be all that pleasant! Focus on patience and cultivate compassion as you practice techniques or exercises that promote a sense of inner peace. Stay calm.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) Sweet Venus in mystical Pisces encourages Moonchildren to imagine the world as you wish it, practice creative visualization and ride a magic carpet to your dreams. Dive into the depths of soul and psyche via the magical and supernatural. Discover the personal freedom of healthy boundaries, as you say no to what hurts and yes to what doesnt.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) With the sun now firmly planted in Aquarius, your solar 7th house of significant others, take a good look at who and what you are committed to. Are you showing up for and sharing your life with people you trust, honor and admire? Accepting total responsibility for the current condition of your relationships is true power. Change what you can.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) The most dramatic and powerful planetary pull for the Virgin lies in the recent retrograde motion of macho Mars in your sign. For many weeks you have been tussling with themes of ego, anger, motivation and desire. Now you are being provided with an extended opportunity to do and get it right! This is not a joke. Be totally attentive at all times; do your best!
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) You may feel a sudden loss of steam or the desire to surrender. Nothing wrong with that! Consider whether youve been fighting a losing battle and whether or not winning is actually an illusion. As the preeminent Peace Warrior of the zodiac, follow the path of least resistance, get in synch with the universe and just take care of you! One day at a time.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) The Aquarius sun time is both exciting and challenging for the Scorpion. And with sweet, seductive Venus now moving through dreamy Pisces, you may find its just the oomph you need to make that call or take that leap of faith in love. Good things come to you from the outside world this year. Get out and see what the hood and the world have to offer. Enjoy!
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) A professional desire or position may return or reinvent itself this week and month. In all cases, this is a call to review and reconstruct career goals and intentions, clean up and fix up all areas of work and achievement. You may feel pressure and as a boss, and/or a recurring issue with employees must be readdressed. Be calm, be cool and focus on the facts.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Discussions and short trips regarding personal responsibilities and issues of security or income are likely as planetary emphasis in your solar 2nd house of money pushes buttons and pulls the chain. Do your best to think out of the box, look for unusual solutions and simply try something different. Utilize compassion, seek divine assistance and keep the faith.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) You may find yourself on the road, on the phone or simply out and about visiting, discussing and exploring as your birthday month begins. Enjoy the world and the awesome beauty of the Mother Earth as you celebrate another revolution around the Sun. This is your time to begin again, renew personal vows and intentions; put your best foot forward. Go forth!
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) Velvety Venus in Pisces provides you with plenty of compassion and understanding when it comes to others disappointments and struggles. Good fortune has gifted you with the inherent ability to calm the waters and provide safe harbor in the storm where loved ones are concerned. Youve been here before and you know what to do. Thank goodness!

Contrast and Paradox: Happy Chinese New Year of the Dragon!
Obviously, the best team was the Patriots...
Hey, now! Here we are. The Denver Broncos are done for the season; Im happy its over. Last weeks loss made the previous weeks victory even sweeter. Lately, Ive been thinking a lot about contrast; contrast of color, contrast of experience obviously, the contrast between winning and losing. How can we know pleasure without pain? Isnt freedom more precious after imprisonment than before it? How can we appreciate liberty if weve always had it? And how about love?
Buddhist and other spiritual teachings encourage us to recognize the similarities in polarities - the common denominator of polar opposites - and learn to look at them as complementary rather than antithetical. Irony and paradox make great literature and are a vital both luscious and lugubrious - part of life here on Earth.
Im feeling rather philosophical today. The wind is steady but its warm low 80s and sunny. Were staying in a remote section of the East Cape of the southern Baja Peninsula and I find myself missing my home and family, my friends, my meetings and my readings. Can I actually be missing work? I tend to stay busy here in spite of spending as much time as possible in the hammock, reading or just hanging out with chores and cooking, the occasional trip to San Jose del Cabo or La Ribera for groceries and supplies, long morning walks on the beach with the dogs, motorcycle rides to the Crossroads Country Club for entertainment and the Internet, writing astrology columns and working on my novel. I notice that I like to feel productive and if I dont, I get restless, irritable and discontent. How can that be possible, when Im the luckiest girl in the world?
Just kidding. Everything is relative and in contrast - to whatever. Im grateful and blessed, living life one day at a time, thankful to be here; thankful to witness the magnificent Sun rise over the silver Sea of Cortez, the full yellow Moon, glowing like a jack-o-lantern on a canvas of muted pinks, cerulean and lilac blues. Whales spout and splash as pelicans skim the turquoise shore break, looking for breakfast. Ospreys cry and frigate birds fly, owls hoot, ravens caw, hummingbirds flit, buzzards soar and an elusive cougar watches me calmly, then quickly disappears into the desert.
This morning a red-tail hawk showed up, calling me to attention. He appeared right in front of me as I sat drinking coffee; floating a thermal on the little hill above the arroyo, close up and personal, eye-to-eye. He reminded me to be aware, to be observant, to observe the obvious in everything I do, that life is sending me signals. Look for the omens, follow the signs. See the magic, heal the wounds. And come home when youre ready.
Happy Chinese New Year of the Dragon 4710!!! Blessings and peace...
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) The Suns entrance into and conjunction with the Moon in Aquarius this week marks the advent of Chinese New Year 4710, and gifts you with another fortuitous opportunity to reinvent your life and self. With wild, revolutionary Uranus retracing Aries territory it has already traveled, you can finally get it right, do it right and make it right. Give it your very best!
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) With several planets including the Chinese New Year Sun/new Moon conjunction in Aquarius, squaring an early degree Jupiter in Taurus, you are being challenged to examine personal issues of control and leadership. Are you assuming positions of authority that others may resent or feel are inappropriate? Refrain from force and lead by example.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) The collective signs Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces are packed with planets and heavy with power as Chinese New Year begins, encouraging joint effort and common interest. Meanwhile, planets in Aries and Taurus awaken us to radical, personal change and individual truth. Fun-loving, curious Twins continue to explore, learn and discover. Stay the course.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) Venus, Chiron and Vesta in Pisces encourage spiritual practice and inspirational study. There is great potential now for deep healing regarding personal wounds and issues of emotional pain in relationships. Research the availability of disciplines, techniques and therapies that call to inner and outer health. Celebrate renewal with those you love and trust.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) The Chinese lunar new year in early Aquarius takes place in your solar 7th house of sharing and pairing, paving the way for fresh starts in relationships especially those you want to be in your life for the long haul. Whether its marriage, romance, friendship or career, now is the time to show up for and give to others exactly what you want to get.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Mars, mythic god of war, takes its once-every-two-year turn retrograde on Jan. 23rd in tandem with Chinese New Year and the Aquarius lunar cycle. The big news: this takes place in Virgo, extending the red-planets stay in your sign to 8 months! Capitalize on this golden cosmic opportunity to resolve issues of self-esteem, eliminate martyrdom, self-pity and self-abuse.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) New beginnings in creative endeavors, romantic relationships and matters of the heart are favored as the Sun and Moon come together in the birth of Chinese New Year 4710. As the dragon roars with flames of passion, you can feel the heat. Saturn reminds you to stay calm, be steadfast and practice the art self-discipline. Count blessings, be cool.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Celebrations of strength, prosperity and fortitude are taking place worldwide as the sunset following the New Moon in Aquarius marks the beginning of another lunar year. Mix mystery with magic as stars twinkle and snowflakes fall. Get in synch with the cosmos via personal rituals and ceremonies of gratitude. Home is where the heart is; focus on inner peace.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) As you see the world of all possibilities glimmering before you, and the stars sparkle above you, count your blessings and proceed with caution. Its wise to keep at least one foot planted firmly on earth as you travel the cosmos. Balance idealistic hopes and dreams with practical, realistic action. A fresh lunar cycle and year favor learning. Read, explore and discover.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) The practical aspects of another new year appeal to those who make the best of fresh starts and new beginnings. Review your list of resolutions and recommit to programs and practices of self-betterment. With radical Uranus queuing up to square transformational Pluto in Capricorn, do your homework, cultivate inner peace and practice the art of humility.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) Dancing tigers and flying dragons herald the advent of Chinese New Year, an internationally celebrated holiday that always takes place as the Aquarius lunar cycle begins. Feeling special? You are! And not in the least because you embrace the world as equal partners and players in the evolutionary journey called human life on earth. Gung hey fat choy!
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) While you may be deeply involved in personally important projects of domestic revitalization or organization, recognize the metaphorically healing power of the process. Others may not understand the passion of your journey, and take it personally, as if you have forgotten or no longer care about their welfare. Smile and be happy. Take breaks, have some fun!

Visible Planets: Morning: Mercury, Mars and Saturn Evening: Venus and Jupiter
On Any Given Sunday...BRONCOS WIN!!!
The middle of January delivers a waning Moon, waxing daylight and a winning Bronco team at least this week! Ha!
I cant resist the temptation to weigh in on the Tebow Train and all the well-deserved hysteria-euphoria of last Sundays fantastically riveting game in Denver against the Pittsburgh Steelers; the focus, ambition and success of the Bronco offense and defense early on, leading Pittsburgh 20 to 6 at halftime and then hanging tough as Big Ben limped his way to a fourth quarter end tie score of 23 to 23 - which resulted in an overtime period - was impressive, to say the least. Then! The first time ever test of the new NFL overtime playoff rules; Broncos win the toss, receive the kick and on the very first down of overtime, the brilliant play call by the Denver offense for a Tebow pass to Demaryius Thomas who had been beating his defender, Ike Taylor, all day long - and an unbelievable!!! on-the-button completion, fabulous reception and fantastic run by Thomas for an 80-yard - yes!!! - TOUCHDOWN!!! BRONCOS WIN!!!
Lots of exclamation marks I know, but for me a native Denverite and little girl Bronco fan it was a moment of grace, suspended in time, a pinnacle in the agony and ecstasy of fandom - it just doesnt get any better than this. Listening to our Sirius-XM radio, on the edge of my hammock, I felt transported; light, seconds of pure emotional bliss, reduced to nothing and at once, one with thousands, possibly millions. I could feel all the fans, the pundits, the sportscasters, the coaches and players. I was thinking of all my family and friends, tuned in and watching the game on their big high-definition flat-screen TVs back up in Colorado; laughing, screaming, jumping up and down; feeling the same wonder and awe, the joy and jubilation of an out-of-this-world, phenomenal, extraordinary, marvelous, remarkable, unexpected AFC playoff WIN!
Timothy Richard Tebow - a controversial and polarizing young Heisman trophy-winning quarterback - devout Christian and disciplined athlete a true believer coming off three consecutive losses and the worst quarter of his entire football career - pulled the trigger and won the game, gifting the world with a touch and taste of the miraculous; the against-all-odds triumph and victory that transports us from the mundane to the ethereal; the floating-flying place, above reality, where we can forget fleetingly the trials and tribulations of lifes struggles and challenges, the place of legendary mirth and joy; mythic, epic the supernatural heaven-earth place the divine moment; a true spiritual experience.
Im down here in Mexico on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, far from Denver and far from Tim Tebow, but Tebowmania is in the air; its flying through the ethers, bouncing off satellites and resounding in the arroyos. Last week, Mercury-Jupiter-Uranus trines and squares delivered wild, dramatic, earth-shaking, paradigm-shattering football. This coming week, a juicy Venus-Jupiter sextile promises plenty of adoration and idolization the Tebow and Tom Brady match-up!!! couldnt be more tantalizing but with lunar squares to Pluto and Mercury, and unpredictable, explosive Uranus lurking on the sidelines, its anybodys guess. Like they say, On any given Sunday
Good luck and with lots of thanks to Tebow and the Broncos; May the best Team win!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Vixen Venus kisses goodbye to humanitarian Aquarius and flirts with serious Saturn on her way to numinous Pisces this week, sharing her gifts of grace with those who are genuinely loving, forgiving and grateful to those who have helped, aided and assisted them. Take note of the cosmic message and back up thoughts and words with appreciation. Show up.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) Suffering is the price we pay for life. Ups and downs, curves and curveballs are all part of the game. Understanding how we contribute and create our own suffering is a magnificent key to living a full and grateful life. Acceptance is huge when it comes to people, circumstances and situations we dont like. Do what you can to change yourself. Thats it!
Gemini (May 21-June 21) Ruler Mercury moves from optimistic, philanthropic Sagittarius into calculating, socially conscious Capricorn this week and in so doing, tightly embraces Pluto, the Lord of Darkness. This powerful conjunction opens doors of soul and psyche in the alignment of body, mind and spirit. Stabilize emotions via breathwork and remain willing to transform.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) As you stand on the horizon of a fresh new year, remembering the past and envisioning the future, embrace the vibrant power of now. We live one day and one moment at a time, breathing in and breathing out. A powerful message comes to you via an outside source this week, recognize its awesome potential and handle with care. Silence is golden.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) You may agree that good health has been number one on your list of priorities for quite some time now. 2012 continues in this, favoring those who commit to daily programs of self-care and self-improvement. Take note of the drugs, chemicals and toxins you have put or are putting in your body. Switch to natural and organic as much as possible. Clean it up!
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Capitalize on the power of Mars as it continues its lengthy transit through Virgo via positive thinking and productive work. Channel this potentially explosive energy in the healthiest ways possible. If youre feeling anger, get out and walk. Do sit-ups, exercise or go for a hike. The life force is surging through your heart and soul. Keep it safe and sound.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) You may find yourself struggling with different aspects of body, mind and spirit as mental Mercury conjoins suspicious Pluto in calculating Capricorn. Pull out your spiritual toolbox and use the tools. Seek out friends and let their spirits uplift and enlighten you. The sweet potion of self-acceptance and self-love may be all you need. And it tastes good too!
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Whether its New Years resolutions or simply thoughts and ideas bouncing around your heart and head, be on guard against self-flagellation and self-doubt. Feel your inherent strength and accept yourself exactly as you are today. You are gifted and blessed, a divine creature upon planet Earth. Tap into your heart and know you are loved.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) The sweet sound of laughter is music to your ears as you think of love and seek out romance. Whether or not you find it, youre likely to have a good time looking. Jovial, flirtatious behaviors bring lightness to otherwise somber scenery, just remember to stay on track when it comes to honor and respect. Friends give you great guidance and direction. Use it.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Maverick magician Mercury, the trickster and coyote of the heavens, is now trotting through Capricorn, playing jokes and plotting strategies along the way. Pay attention to internal dialogues, be conscious of what you say and be impeccable with your word. Regarding information and messages, consider the source. Verify validity before reacting. Be cool.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) Voluptuous Venus sweetly bids you adieu this week, but not before awarding you with the magnificent gift of a spiritually enlightened heart. Goodness is greatness and you know it. No matter how much you may have felt sorry for yourself or imagined your own demise, you understand now that suffering is a magical part of life. Enjoy the gift of grace.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) Working with others - specifically groups, fellowships and friends - may prove both challenging and enlightening as you awaken to the depth and power of communal involvement and common interest. Strive for efficiency and focus on productivity, rather than getting caught up in political or philosophical debates. Look for angels and follow their light.

The Mystical, Magical Journey through the Forest of 2012
As I take my first steps through the mystical forest of 2012, I cant help but feel a certain type of calculated anticipation and inspired awe. Even being here alive on planet Earth at this particular point in time is somewhat of a miracle.
I cant count the pages Ive read or time Ive spent researching indigenous teachings including Mayan prophecies and still, Im far from scholarly or enlightened here. As an astrologer, I often feel a responsibility and obligation to make some sort of statement regarding the highly promoted and prophesized year of 2012. How many times have we collectively seen, heard and thought about that number? Individually, what does it mean? What will happen on Dec. 21, 2012, when the solstice sun lines up with the Galactic Center? Will the earth flip on its axis? Will there be great cataclysm and apocalypse? Is this the hour of the Great Ascension?
At times, I feel that its all so much hype. And then, at other times, I know its real, as real as anything or anybody. I cannot escape the fact that we humans fabricate a thinking, breathing, feeling collective body, an energetic evolutionary force that effects change and manifests destiny. And yet, we are far from all-powerful. The Earth, the cosmos, the phenomenal universe, planetoids and asteroids, Mother Nature, our Sun, the Great Mysterythere are countless energies and entities more powerful than we. WE, we, we who define, rationalize, explain and exploit. We, who carve out and craft our realities, defend our gods and goddesses; pontificate scientific hypotheses and promote mystical, social and political worldviews. We, who fight for oil, fight for fear and oxymoronically claim to fight for peace. Unified in diversity, a species that comes in thousands of colors and millions of shapes and sizes, we humans are here on Earth in the millennial year 2012, waiting, watching and wondering - together.
I am well aware that this is a major and magnificent paradigm shift, a sweeping change in the collective consciousness, and it will take place is taking place right now - whether we realize it consciously or not. What was, no longer is. What is, is. To live here to be here now to vibrantly embrace these times - requires conscious living and conscious loving; we must recognize that everything we do and say has an immediate, resounding affect upon every part and particle of our world, universe and cosmos. We act upon it and it acts upon us, its a processional dance of immediate karma. And we have reached the point in our evolution where knowledge - just knowing that our thoughts have an evolutionary affect upon our evolution speeds up and amplifies the power of the effect. Its the smoking mirror of action, intention and reflection, when we are being called accountable for everything we have done so far and being called to think, live, act and breathe consciously in the forever present now. And perhaps most of all, the most important player in the play, the Mother Earth, the Great Mother, the Mother of us all, is up front and center in the meaning and message of this millennial shift. May you immerse yourself in her warmth and be guided by her wisdom as you join me in our mystical journey through the magical forest of 2012. Blessings and peace

Bask in the glow of illusion as you float on pink clouds in a land of honey. Questions of reality beckon as you ask, Am I dreaming? Whether youre the dreamer or the dreamed, you are you. Make the you the best you can be and live fully in the dream.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) As you float in the dreamy land between air Aquarius and fiery Aries, you are one who intuits the limits of mind and body, the spoils of strategy and self-will. Things are not always as they seem and invisible forces work in mysterious ways. 2012 illuminates a shimmering path of spiritual experience and enlightenment for those willing to take the high road.

Prospero Ano Nuevo 2012 - Joyful, Blessed New Year!
As we cross the illusionary bridge of time that takes us from the known lands of 2011 to the future frontiers of 2012, we find ourselves in a topsy, turvy world of virtual, physical and spiritual realities; living our lives and crafting our dreams as best we can. Economic and social realms interface and evolve in a never-before-seen dance of global production and competition; we are truly leveling the field when it comes to creative effort and enterprise. Class warfare rages as it has for eons as individual and collective forces cooperate one day and collide the next.
The Aquarian Age our current age of knowledge, technology and enlightenment is providing us with more accessible knowledge and virtual experience than anyone could have ever imagined. Satellites and electromagnetic waves surround our Mother ship Earth, streaming rivers of data and providing us with communication links from Madagascar to Mississippi. Were on the cutting edge of human evolution, of course. We have never been here before.

Intimate evenings with a lover or friend, deep sleep and quiet reflections are cures. Relax.

Seductive partners and enticing possibilities beckon as both personal and professional opportunities emerge. Enjoy the heat, stoke the fire; just dont burn down the house. Take it easy, take it slow. One day at a time, the path becomes clear.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Optimistic, spiritually generous Jupiter in your solar 9th house of faith and goodness has gifted you with a more positive, uplifted attitude in the year ahead. Keeping your heart in the present and maintaining a daily practice of self-betterment, self-acceptance, self-love and self-forgiveness as you contribute your special gifts to the world - guarantees success.

They give you the emotional support and realistic feedback you need to negotiate the wild and wonderful road ahead. Self-improvement and better health routines are themes in 2012. Consider the alternatives.

Hang in there; patience is a virtue.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) As personal values revamp and revitalize your present life direction and future goals, embrace the now. The seven-year Uranian awakening of which youve been a primal part continues to enlighten and align you with higher self being and doing. You are also more in tune with the collective mind and universal soul. Listen to intuition, follow your heart.

Returning Light, Solstice and Santa Claus...It's Christmas!
Winter Solstice takes place this year at 10:30 pm MST on Dec. 21st, when the Sun enters the cardinal earth sign Capricorn. Celebrations take place around the world on both Dec. 21st and 22nd- Hail the season of Returning Light!
It's a busy week for holiday celebrations that honor light and the season of returning light. Winter Solstice, Hanukkah and Christmas all take place when days are shortest and nights are longest. All of them include ceremonies of light and rituals of fire in their traditions. And let it be so; it's time to honor our universal symbol of spirit - the Sun - primal star of exponential fire; the electromagnetic Force of Light and Life that keeps us all together, moving in circles, revolving around a center, eternally evolving - from year to year, life to life, star to star and galaxy to galaxy.Candles, fires and electric wizardry bestow a variety of choices when it comes to traditional holiday light rituals and displays. I, personally, am a big fan of colored lights rather than the uni-dimensional white ones - flickering candles, crackling fires and Christmas trees shimmering with tinsel. A solstice bonfire is always on the agenda as well - if possible complete with a Yuletide ceremony of twinkling bells and New Year's wishes.
And let's not forget about jolly old Saint Nick, benevolent Santa, Father Christmas he has to be a Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius! All those presents, elves, reindeer and a speedy international world tour on a flying sleigh in just one night? Wow! And all he wants for us is to be good? After all, He knows when youve been sleeping, he knows when youre awake. "He knows when youve been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake! Oh, You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to town!" Good God, lets be good!
May we embrace the joys of Christmas, carry love in our hearts and follow the shining Light of Spirit. Peace on Earth and Good Will to All! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Joyful, Peaceful Solstice. Ho! Ho! Ho!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) The solstice sun squares rebellious Uranus in Aries as winter begins, spurring strong reactions to others rules and regulations. Use this potentially explosive energy to free yourself from self-limiting habits and personal, self-imposed behavioral prisons rather than strike out at authority. Cultivate inner peace and celebrate Christmas with love.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) The winter solstice sun trines jovial, spiritually generous Jupiter in early Taurus, sparking generosity and providing you with plenty of good faith and fun for the holidays. Whether its money and resource, or time and attention, you feel a strong desire to give. Share your heart with those you love as you practice the art of compassion. Merry Christmas!
Gemini (May 21-June 21) The Dec. 10th lunar eclipse in your sign illuminated issues of sharing and pairing in relationship, your role and responsibilities to others, as well as how to show up for you. Transpersonal outer planets encourage unconventional, new friendships coupled with deep inner soul work. Christmas gifts you with the green light of spirit. Explore and discover!
Cancer (June 21-July 22) As the solstice sun marks the beginning of winter and initiates the season of returning light, Moonchildren cross over into the second half of their solar year. Celebrate life with the sweetness of a grateful heart and a happy home. Professional, social or family influence may change a tradition or begin a new one. Relax and accept what comes. Choose joy!
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) A fresh new Moon in early Capricorn amplifies winter solstice themes of tradition and convention, but you may find yourself feeling more rebellious and radical than usual. Just blame it on the stars its the spirit of Uranian liberty calling you to get out and explore the cosmos, inside and out. Discover the art of giving your heart. Love and let love.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Action-loving Mars continues to infuse you with good spirit and good hope when it comes to issues of self and self-esteem. This is a gift of grace and great for moving forward, out of any self-imposed funk, fear or fantasy. Do the next right thing, keep your head up and maintain motion in positive, productive directions. Seek and you shall find. Merry Xmas!
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) As winter begins and solstice marks the season of returning light, celebrate life with outer beauty and inner grace. Peace on Earth, joy, love and gratitude, spiritual generosity and good will to all are holiday mantras, but for Libras they are inspirational ideals and personal goals. Light the candles, share the hope and embrace the magic.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) With generous Jupiter now moving direct through the early degrees of Taurus, prepare yourself for several months of good luck and good will coming to you from the outside world. This is a golden opportunity regarding relationships. Keep your eyes and heart open for that special something or someone. In the meantime, celebrate love and embrace joy.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Eclipse energy still shimmers and shines as the season of returning light initiates winter. Count your blessings and gather your resources as Christmas showers you with material demands and spiritual directives. Ruled by inspirational Jupiter and symbolized by a centaur, you are a now and forever a spiritual warrior, destined for greatness. Enjoy your fate.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Happy birthdays begin as winter solstice marks the advent of winter and the season of returning light. As you celebrate another revolution around the sun, take a personal inventory of your inner spiritual condition as well as your outer physical health. No time like the present to take responsibility for each and every aspect of your life. Seize the day.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) With the recent ingress of Venus into Aquarius, you may be feeling more romantic and playful than usual. Embrace this pleasure-loving transit via sweetness and gratitude, acts of kindness and physical or material generosity toward others. Innovation and creativity are also on the rise, express yourself artistically or via invention. Share the gifts of grace.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) Friends may suddenly pop up or you find yourself seeking the company and camaraderie of people with whom you share common history and interest. Enjoy the festivities, plan a party or simply make contact via phone or Internet. Others are motivating action and asking you out, get up and go. Expand your circle and enjoy the glow. Merry, merry!
